1. How long can you drive on your overseas license?

Your deadline to convert to a New South Wales license depends on your residency or visa status:

Permanent Residents / Australian Citizens: You can drive using your overseas license for a maximum of 3 months after arriving or receiving your residency. After 3 months, you must transfer to a NSW license to legally drive.
Temporary Visa Holders (Students, Working Holiday, Skilled Migration): If you plan to stay in NSW for 6 months or longer, you must convert to a NSW license within your first 6 months.

2. Do you need to sit the computer and driving tests?

Service NSW divides overseas countries into different categories. This determines whether your license can be converted directly or if you need to pass tests:
